EAT. TRAIN. REST.

DAY TEN of 365

Well, after only four hours of sleep, I woke up delirious but still managed to get the girls off to school.  Then I took a nap while my “almost 4 year old” roamed the house doing who knows what.

I hate spending so much of this blog whining about sleep.  It is just VERY important for optimal functioning, muscle recovery, (good parenting), and the will to continue pushing on.  It is essential to my program, and I am not doing well so far in that aspect.  I am getting good sleep tonight.  Period.  I have to wake up on Thursday and run a mile in the Holiday Hustle with my 8 year old, so I don’t want to be dragging.  And I will still have to lift later in the day.  So sleep begins tonight.  I’m shooting to be asleep by midnight, but realistically, I would settle for 1AM.

The day is going well, but I am trying to decide if I am taking a day OFF today.  I have one day of scheduled rest each week, but I allow it to generally float to when I think I need it.  I like to push it off later in the week, especially since the weekends tend to get busy during the holidays.  I figured by posting here, it would be enough to convince me to run tonight and save the day OFF.  I think it worked.  I will get to the gym late and jump on the elliptical for some interval work.

Mission accomplished.
